Safe Sitter
Safe Sitters Essentials is a structured 5 and 1/2 hour instructor-led class. There will be breaks and lunch incorporated into the course. Join us for this program on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10am – 3:30pm in the Community Room at the Duneland Family YMCA.

Safe Sitter Essentials
In Safe Sitter Essentials students in grades 6th-8th will learn safety, child-care, first aid, life, and business skills. These new skills are gained and practiced in the attentive care of a trained instructor. Students will practice their skills through fun games and role-playing exercises. Let Safe Sitter Essentials set your child up for success now and in the future! This program will help students learn a variety of important life skills including:
-How to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
-Tips for managing behaviors and saying in controls of themselves and the children in their care. This also includes learning ages and stages of development and the skill of diapering.
-A system for assessing and responding to injuries and illnesses, including choking.
-Gaining the ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers.
