GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES

The Y offers group exercise classes for every level, interest, and age group! With trained group exercise instructors, and a fun and supportive environment, you’ll find a class to help you reach your health and wellness goals. Choose from Spin, Cardio, Strength, Mind/Body, Yoga, and more.  Come out and enjoy your favorite Y classes and instructors with friends as you exercise and stay healthy together.

Group Ex Class Descriptions

SPIN

We have a variety of Spin classes! Some will take you through hill climbs, intervals, and sprints on the bike, others follow with a strength focused circuit. Circuits will take place off the bike utilizing bodyweight and dumbbells. All will take you on a ride with energizing music and an upbeat atmosphere, you’ll enjoy the challenge! 

This intense, 45 minute class, combines cardio and core! We will spend 30 minutes working through a traditional Spin class with hill climbs, intervals, and sprints, followed by a 15 minute core circuit utilizing dumbbells and body weight. This classes focuses on improving cardio endurance, sculpting and strengthening your core, and building lean muscle.

This intense, 60 minute class, combines cardio and hiit! We will spend time working through a traditional Spin class with hill climbs, intervals, and sprints, followed by high intensity circuits utilizing dumbbells and body weight. This classes focuses on improving cardio endurance, sculpting and strengthening, and building lean muscle.

In this 30 minute express class you will work through a traditional Spin class with hill climbs, intervals, and sprints. This class focuses on improving cardio endurance. Burn calories and improve your strength in this low impact exercise that is easy on the joints.

CARDIO

Cardio classes challenge you to increase heart rate and endurance while using large muscles, to get the body moving! Improving your cardio endurance helps keep muscles strong and efficient, while boosting overall mood, lowering risk of heart disease, aiding in weight loss, and reducing stress! Cardio classes include BodyCombat, Pound, HIIT & Run,  and Bootcamp

Not just for runners! This ultimate calorie-burning workout involves high intensity interval training (HIIT) for the entire body using treadmills, body weight, dumbbells, barbells, bands and more. A nice blend of 50% strength and 50% cardio with something for everyone!! Is low-impact training your only option? No worries. Modifications for all movements will be provided.

A challenging combination of cardio and strength training using dumbbells and bodyweight exercises. SLAM! all major muscle groups, and improve your core stability and cardiovascular health. 

BodyCombat™ features a science-backed combo of some of the most empowering and effective martial arts moves. This high-intensity, full body workout incorporates aspects of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics. It is a type of cardio peak training, which is a combination of steady and high-intensity exercise.

DANCE

Dance your way to fitness! Each class offers different routines to help you tone and have fun doing it. Dance classes can also aid in improving posture and body control, endurance, confidence, and energy. Dance classes include Zumba, Cardio Dance, Low Impact Cardio, and Stomp’n Boots Line Dancing. 

Dance at a slower pace. This class is a combination of strength, basic low impact cardiovascular segments, balance and flexibility.  Specifically designed for those who prefer a great workout without the added impact to joints. Great for beginners and active older adults.

This dance-based cardio class incorporates a wide variety of medium- and low-impact aerobic dance moves to a variety of high-energy beats. It’s like a dance party!

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party. Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you’ll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

These classes welcome Beginner and Intermediate dancers. We will always break down every dance so even if you have never taken a line dancing class, but you enjoy a throw down, heart stomp’n good time, this class is made for you!

STRENGTH

Build friendships and muscle with strength classes at the Y! From basic to advanced, our strength classes are designed to increase lean muscle mass to help improve your performance of everyday activities. Classes will utilize dumbbells, weights and body weight, for a full body workout. Strength classes include BodyPump, CORE, Bootcamp, Total Body HIIT, and Strength 101.

BodyPump is barbell workout choreographed to music, that challenges all major muscle groups. Class consists of squats, presses, lifts and curls as you strengthen, tone and define your entire body. You determine the level you’ll work at by choosing the appropriate weights with lots of repetition. Modifications shown for all fitness levels.

Inspired by elite athletic training principles, LES MILLS CORE is a scientific core workout for incredible core tone and sports performance. You build strength, stability and endurance in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, assist injury prevention, and become better at everything you do.

All the moves in LES MILLS CORE have options, so it’s challenging but achievable whatever your level of fitness. During the workout, trained Instructors guide you through correct technique as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as bodyweight exercises like crunches, and hovers. Plus there are some hip, butt and lower back exercises too.

Bootcamp is a fun, non-traditional way to get in shape and feel great! This class caters to all fitness levels, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. We will use resistance training with strength equipment and body weight, to improve your strength, energy, and cardiovascular endurance.

Strength 101 consists of basic and beginner cardiovascular and strength training exercises. This class is designed to help participants gain stamina, and build lean muscle mass, while increasing balance and flexibility. Perfect for anyone new to exercise and looking for a low-impact group class.

ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS

Active Older Adults Classes concentrate on improving strength and flexibility so daily living activities become easier. Whether you’re looking to stay in shape or increase social interaction, we have something for everyone. Active Older Adult classes include Y-B Fit, Building Fit Friends, Silver Sneakers Classics and Engaging Brains. 

A full body workout for all fitness levels with a focus on flexibility and strength.

Total body workout including cardio, strength and wall exercises with stretching and flexibility exercises.

Have fun and move to the music through exercises designed to increase strength, range of motion and activities of daily living. Silver Sneakers group exercise classes are appropriate for older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehabilitation programs, and ALL those who enjoy a positive, upbeat social environment.

If you are 60+ ENGAGING BRAINS is the class to keep you feeling Younger for Longer! We bring together the joy of dancing with fun and engaging exercises to keep your brain healthy and happy! Classes are designed to combine: “Golden Grooves” – smile and sing along as you dance, sitting in chairs, sharpening your coordination and rhythm; and “Brain Workouts” – stimulating and fun activities to boost your memory, sharpen your attention, visual perception, reasoning, and focus. We will improve your brain connections, increasing the ease to perform daily activities, enhancing your mood, and maintaining your autonomy for a happier, healthier YOU!

MIND & BODY

Mind and body connection is just as important as your physical fitness! Reconnect with your inner self while improving flexibility, posture, core strength, and breathing. Mind and Body classes include Yoga, Functional Stretch and Foam Rolling 101. 

Grow longer and stronger as you work through movement designed to increase your flexibility, release tension, and improve posture. Breathing techniques will further enhance the yoga practice. This class is designed for all levels.

Functional Stretching is a class for all ages, body types, and fitness levels. It combines gentle stretching and basic yoga poses. This class will help guide your awareness to the muscles that may be associated with your aches and pains. Benefits include; improved flexibility, balance, joint mobility, and breath awareness.
